Safety for Kids, Peace of Mind for Parents: Crouching Tigers is a story-based martial arts program that teaches LifeSkills and SafetyLessons to children aged 2-7. Weekly classes blend captivating storytelling with traditional training techniques. Developed by Olivia Roney Mitchell—a mother of four—the program equips young children with the tools they need to navigate their world safely and confidently during these formative years. By intertwining relatable narratives of Crouching Tiger characters with martial arts techniques, Crouching Tigers offers a gentle yet powerful way to impart essential safety and life skills. The Crouching Tigers two-year program is currently offered in childcare facilities, preschools, elementary schools, and community centers across Indiana and Illinois, making it easier for families to integrate martial arts and safety education into their children’s daily routines

Crouching Tigers is absolutely fantastic! As a childcare teacher, I’m so grateful they come to our program. My students have a blast with Sensei Kaila during karate class! Even the kids who aren’t enrolled keep asking to join in on the fun. I really love that they do a class demo every semester—it’s such a great opportunity for me to promote the program after seeing it in action myself. This program teaches so much more than just karate, which is incredibly valuable at this age. If you haven’t signed your child up yet, you definitely should!

Crouching Tigers is offered in preschools, childcare centers, elementary schools, and community centers throughout Indiana and Illinois. Classes are held year-round.

Aerobic activity and a love for fitness are at the core of our program.

We deploy practical and realistic self-defense techniques that are effective for even the youngest of our students.

The confidence built when a child breaks a board is second to none. Students learn confidence throughout the program and showcase it at our end-of-unit promotion ceremonies.

In Crouching Tigers, self-respect and respect for others are fundamental elements that are exercised in every class.

No. Our no-contact program does not offer sparring/ fighting and the use of our techniques on others is discouraged while respect is taught in every class.

Yes! Each of our units ends with a promotion ceremony that includes breaking (real wooden!) boards and promoting in rank.

Your one-time registration fee includes:
